VANCOUVER!
This is one of the cities that many have rated to be better in the Sumer but honestly, to me, it's equally amazing in the winter.
It was one of my recent vacations during winter and before we left, we had many friends who claimed that it's best to see Vancouver during the summer because of the things we will miss out, like whale watching and hiking etc. Although we ended up not witnessing the whales (which apparently is a must-see attraction in Vancouver), our trip kept us fully entertained for the week.
The best place we had been to, was undoubtedly the Whistler Mountains! The cypress mountain is known to be bigger (in height), but to me, the views Whistler had was just mesmerizing. Especially because drives up to Whistler is not recommended, we are left with the choice of taking the cable car (also known as Peak to Peak Gondola). This again gives some of the best view as you pass above all the people skiing in different from all directions and just the mountains, trees and pretty much everything covered with snow! Up in the Whistler, there are also many different activities (they are pretty much same as with most of the other winter activities). Just walking around in that altitude with many professional photographers around to capture moments with your family is just amazing. However, something I felt was that the restaurant there was quite expensive and the photos, although were amazing, were a little too pricy.
Not forgetting about skiing, Whistler or the Cypress Mountains are the best places to ski if you have prior skiing experience and you enjoy doing so. It can be a challenging experience, and if your up for it, you can't afford to miss that experience. However, if you are more of a beginner like me, then you should go to Mount Seymour, which is slightly smaller and have more slopes and lessons designated to beginners. It is also cheaper than Whistler mountains, if you are just a beginner and not a big fan of nice, high slopes.
There are other good attractions you can visit that could be covered in both summer and winter like the Capilano Suspension bridge, a few nature parks etc.
Something I haven't experienced in Vancouver is the summer side of the city. Instead of having snow around, under the Whistler Mountain, you will probably witness bears walking and you could activities like trekking and biking etc. You can also witness the whale watching if you're there at summer. So, it's an amazing place to be at, pretty much any time year around.
